Guernsey Post said 16 December was its busiest pre-Christmas day

Guernsey Post staff handled more than 700,000 parcels this Christmas period - an increase of 2% on 2024.

The postal service said its busiest pre-Christmas day was 16 December 2025, when nearly 24,000 parcels were out for delivery.

It said that myUKaddress - a Guernsey Post scheme which helps islanders access UK retailers and was recently extended to offer Primark products - had been "particularly popular".

Good weather meant there had been "no added complications" and this had allowed staff "to focus on managing the expected high parcel volumes efficiently".

"First and foremost, a huge thank you to our posties, Post Office teams, customer services, and all our behind-the-scenes colleagues who worked tirelessly to make this Christmas a success," said Steve Sheridan, Guernsey Post's chief executive.

"Their dedication ensures our customers receive the reliable service they expect.

"I also want to recognise the fantastic support from our logistics partners – Brittany Ferries, Woodside and Ferryspeed - who played a vital role in keeping parcels moving during this peak period."
