A 51-year-old man has been arrested after two men were assaulted.

The attack took place outside Jersey Islamic Centre on Aquila Road in St Helier at about 14:00 GMT on Friday.

Jersey Police said the victims were Muslim and confirmed the assault was alleged to have been racially motivated.

The man has been arrested for common assault and disorderly conduct. The victims were not seriously injured, police added, and officers were working with members of the Muslim community following the incident.
