More detail has been revealed in a planning application for a proposed new skatepark in Jersey.

The suggested site on South Hill in St Helier is currently host to reversing bays used by learner drivers.

The skate park would eventually be moved into the redeveloped Fort Regent site - due to be completed in 2028. The area would then be turned into a cycle park, if plans are approved.

The park would have moveable skatepark equipment, acoustic fencing, an accessible toilet and baby changing facility, and CCTV, among other features.

The proposed skate park is part of the Government of Jersey's New Skateparks project.

The application said the overall aim of the project was to improve island-wide provision of skateparks and wheeled sports facilities.

The project has funding allocated under the Budget (Government Plan) 2026 – 2029, it added.

The application said there was a "clear demand" for skate parks and wheeled sports facilities in Jersey.

In 2023, a £1.9m concrete skate park opened in Les Quennevais.

The application said the skate park and cycle park facility would "provide a central facility within the most highly and densely-populated areas of the island."
