'Exciting new chapter' as lido operator confirmed
BBCThe new operator of Jersey's 130-year-old lido has been confirmed.
Jersey Business, which oversaw the tender process, said Lido Jersey had agreed the lease terms for the Havre des Pas Lido in St Helier.
Lido Jersey, the trading name for First Point Property Services, is set to take on the responsibility for the full management and maintenance of the site, including the swimming pool on 1 April.
Director of Lido Jersey Marcus Troy said it marked the beginning of an "exciting new chapter for the lido" and the team would share vision and plans for the site with residents in the coming weeks.
The café and kiosk were previously managed by The Lido (Havre des Pas) Limited with Jersey Property Holdings responsible for the public facilities.
Marcus Calvani, from The Lido (Havre des Pas) Limited, said the lido had evolved into a brand and had hosted major celebrations in the past 10 years.
He said: "We are immensely proud of the foundations that have been laid and are encouraged that others recognise and will take forward the strength and value that's been created."
