A third man has been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspicious death.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the body of a man was located in the water at Plymouth's Millbay Marina during searches on Sunday.

A murder inquiry was launched after the body of Drew Perham, 24, was located at the marina after he was reported as missing by his family on Saturday. Floral tributes have been laid at the marina.

Two other 19-year-old men, one from Plymouth and one from Exmouth, were also arrested and remained in custody on suspicion of murder, officers said.

A third man, 19, was arrested on Tuesday

On Tuesday, a third man, also 19, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody.

Detectives said a 36-hour warrant for further detention was granted for the Plymouth man on Monday by Plymouth Magistrates' Court.

The man from Exmouth remains in custody after an extension was authorised to detain him for a further 12 hours.

Detectives from the major crime investigation team said they were carrying out "extensive inquiries" and an increased police presence remained in the Millbay area.

'Avoid speculation'

Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard from the team said the investigation into Perham's death was "progressing at a fast pace".

He said: "There are a number of inquiries taking place and Drew's family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

"I continue to ask people to avoid speculating about this case.

"This is an ongoing investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and online speculation in particular is not helpful."

Blanchard asked anyone with information to get in contact, particularly any witnesses who may have been in the Millbay area between 01:00 GMT and 05:00 on Saturday.

The public could report any information via the force's Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP), which allowed people to submit information, plus large files such as doorbell, CCTV and dashcam footage, officers said.
