People have been urged to avoid speculating about the case

Det Supt James Dowler said their thoughts were with Perham's family during this "unbelievably difficult time".

He urged people to avoid speculating.

"This investigation has been very fast-paced, and the community will be aware of the significant policing presence that has been in the Millbay area as our inquiries have progressed throughout the day," he said.

"This will continue in the coming days."

Police have urged people who were in the Millbay area between 01:00 GMT and 04:00 GMT on Saturday to get in touch with them.
