A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged rape in a West Sussex car park, police have said.

Sussex Police said a 27-year-old man had been arrested after a woman in her 20s was reportedly raped in the car park in Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, on Wednesday evening.

The man remains in custody, the force said.

Det Supt Jay Mendis-Gunasekera previously said Sussex Police was "exploring a number of lines of enquiry".

Anyone with information is urged to contact Sussex Police, the force added.
