Bowring Road is set to close from its junction with Cumberland Road on Friday

People who need to access a GP surgery or dental practice in Ramsey have been warned of disruption on Friday due to planned roadworks.

Work will take place on the upper section of Bowring Road, between its junctions with Cumberland Road and Bride Road, from 09:30 GMT.

Although access to Ramsey Cottage Hospital will remain available via Cumberland Road, that will only be via Jurby Road and the lower section of Bowring Road.

The Department of Infrastructure said the works, which include paver patches and crack sealing, were planned to be completed within one day ahead of surface dressing later in the year.

'Pedestrian access'

It said staff would be on hand at the junctions to help motorists gain access to Ramsey Group Practice and Grove Mount Dental Surgery, along with homes cut off by the closure.

Pedestrian access will be available throughout the works, it added.

Diversions will be in place via North Shore Road, Mooragh Promenade, The Vollan, Grand Island and Bride Road for traffic in and out of Ramsey from Bride and Andreas.

Thornhill Park, Richmond Road, Richmond Grove, Grove Mount West and Ash Grove will only be accessible from Jurby Road, while those travelling in and out of the Ormly Estate will have to use Bride Road.
