A section of the A17 road is due to close from 08:00 GMT on Thursday

Motorists in a parish on the north of the Isle of Man have been warned of disruption on Thursday morning due to road repairs.

A section of the A17 between Andreas and St Judes is set to be closed from 08:00 GMT for works in preparation for the project later this summer.

The Department of Infrastructure said the closure would be in place from the junction with the St Judes Road to the junction with the Kiondroghad Road until the works were completed, which was expected to be the same day.

People needing to access Andreas village or St Judes during the closure have been told to use the Andreas to Regaby road instead.

The department said while the southbound lane had been resurfaced following a water mains installation project, the southbound lane had not and therefore "required attention".

The narrow nature of the road meant a temporary closure was necessary, it added.
