Snow and freezing temperatures have caused problems for schools in Colchester

Two schools in Essex have had to close due to plumbing and heating issues amid plummeting temperatures.

Langenhoe Community Primary School and St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, both in Colchester, have shut on Tuesday.

St Teresa's has said it is suffering plumbing issues - while Langenhoe has no heating in its classrooms.

It comes amid a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice which is in place until 11:00 GMT.

Essex County Council has a list of closures on its website.
