Cow dies in suspected arson attack

A cow has died from smoke inhalation following a suspected arson attack in Barnsley, police have said.

A fire broke out on a field on Storrs Mill Lane in the Cudworth area at about 15:45 BST on 13 August.

The blaze spread to a nearby field, where the cow was found dead and more than £50,000 worth of damage was caused.

South Yorkshire Police has asked anyone with information about the incident to contact officers.

Bradley Robinson was stopped three times in six months, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Barnsley Council says the buildings in Cudworth are in poor condition and largely unoccupied.

The illustrated card packs have been designed by artist Patrick Murphy and poet Ian McMillan.

More than 100 homes are planned for the location in Barnsley, with funding to prepare the site approved.
