National Highways said three lanes were closed after a lorry shed its load of offal

A lorry has shed its load of offal onto the M6 in Staffordshire leaving drivers facing delays of up to 90 minutes.

Three lanes have been closed on the motorway's northbound carriageway, between junctions 14 for Stafford and 15 for Stoke-on-Trent, since before 07:00 GMT, National Highways (NH) said.

An NH spokesperson said traffic officers were at the scene, with specialist contractors are due to arrive at the scene for the clean-up to begin.

Motorists have been warned to allow extra time for journeys in the area.
