Boy, 3, in critical condition after falling into pool
Google MapsA three-year-old boy is fighting for his life after reportedly falling into a swimming pool.
Emergency services were called to Irby Road, Wirral, at about 12:55 GMT on Tuesday following reports that a child had fallen into a pool at a private property.
Two air ambulances landed at nearby Pensby High School, while Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance attended the scene.
The boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition, police confirmed on Wednesday.
Officers said they were supporting the family and that enquiries were continuing to establish the full circumstances.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We received a report from North West Ambulance Service that the child had fallen into a swimming pool at around 12.55pm yesterday (Tuesday 17 March) and emergency services, including paramedics and officers, attended the scene on Irby Road.
"The child was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition. Officers continue to support the family and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
