Man arrested over attempted gun murder
Mat Trewern, BBCA man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after gun was fired in Salford.
A 36-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear after the incident in St Joseph's Drive at around 20:16 GMT, on Sunday, 1 February.
The man was arrested after a stand-off with armed police and remains in custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there were no injuries, but that officers remained in the area on Monday morning as an investigation into the incident continued.
Mat Trewern, BBCGMP Det Supt Sim Moyles said: "We are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness.
"The use of firearms and acts of intimidation have absolutely no place in Greater Manchester, and we will not tolerate them.
"Our officers responded swiftly to protect the public, and our investigation will continue to ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
