St John's Stonefold Church of England Primary School is closed to pupils

A primary school in Lancashire remains closed to pupils for a second day due to problems with its water supply.

St John's Stonefold Church of England Primary School in Accrington closed on Monday after a mains water pipe burst on the school field, resulting in no water at the school.

On Monday several schools, tips and libraries had to be closed due to the snow and treacherous icy conditions.

Five other schools which were closed in the county have now reopened, according to the Lancashire County Council website.

A yellow severe weather warning for ice was put in place by the Met Office from Tuesday evening until 10:00 GMT on Wednesday.
