Speed limit reduced near Jeremy Clarkson's pub
BBCMotorists driving between a village pub, owned by Jeremy Clarkson, and its overflow car park, will now need to drive more slowly.
Oxfordshire County Council has approved lowering the speed limit from 40mph to 30 mph, on a stretch of the B4047, to help keep the route safe for people walking from their cars to the Farmer's Dog.
Andrew Gant, Oxfordshire County Council's cabinet member for transport, said that although the car park doesn't have planning permission the decision was not a case of getting "the tail to wag the dog", but was based on making the safety of pedestrians a priority.
The owners of the pub are applying for retrospective planning permission for the overflow car park.

The council officer responsible for the road safety programme, vision zero, Roger Plater, said "we are seeing large numbers of people crossing the road here, so we consider a lower speed limit to be appropriate".
Plater went on to say that Oxfordshire County Council had made no opposition to planning permission being granted for the car park, even at the higher speed limit.
A zebra crossing was also considered for the area, but was rejected.
