A woman in her 70s has died after being struck by a car suspected by police to have been driven dangerously.

The pedestrian was walking on Colne Road in Brierfield, Lancashire, at 18:02 BST on Monday when she was hit by the Mercedes GLC.

She was taken to hospital but died the following day, Lancashire Police said.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail.

Sgt Pete Fyans said there was footage of the incident being shared on social media and urged people not to share it.
