Two teenagers have been arrested after a baby was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Humberside Police said a scene guard was in place at a property in Grimsby after the baby was taken to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning.

The force said it was working to establish the circumstances surrounding the baby's injuries, which are currently being treated as unexplained.

Det Insp Gemma Walker said a teenage boy and girl had been arrested and urged the public not to speculate while the investigation continued.

The force has asked anyone with information to get in touch.
