Attempted murder arrest over suspected shootings
GoogleA man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two reported shootings in Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police said it received reports of two shootings in Newton Heath - one on Ainthorpe Street and another on Ballantine Street - at about 22:00 BST on Tuesday.
A man, who police said was not the intended target, received minor head injuries in the Ainthorpe Street incident.
No injuries were reported following what happened on Ballantine Street, the force said.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, and assault.
He remains in police custody.
Det Insp Mark Hodgson said: "Officers have taken proactive action through additional patrols and are following multiple lines of inquiry.
"We will continue to have a presence in the area so please speak to our officers if you have any concerns."
