Bus operators make changes in bid to boost services
Getty ImagesBus operators in Oxfordshire are hoping changes to their services will improve reliability and punctuality for passengers.
Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel said alterations to 27 services from Sunday have been made following the introduction of the city's congestion charge and free park and ride bus journeys.
They say it should allow for quicker journeys and mean "more resilient" timetables across the city and wider county.
There are also changes to the companies' fares and tickets to "simplify" choices for customers.
It will continue using the National Bus Fare Cap scheme so all single and return tickets will be capped at £3 and £6 respectively.
But as part of the changes, return tickets will not be available for journeys wholly within the Oxford SmartZone.
Most customers can still pay £4.50 by switching to FreeFlow, its tap-on, tap-off payment scheme tha caps a day rate to that price.
