Farm staff heartbroken over missing therapy sheep

Staff at a farm said they had been left heartbroken after one of their therapy sheep went missing.

Dream Care Farm CIC, Thurston, Suffolk, said Teddy the ram was last seen on Monday by employees.

The farm, which runs agricultural-related activities for people with additional health, social and educational needs, said that everyone who visited the site had a "special bond" with Teddy.

Sue Smith, the farm's manager, said: "Everyone is really sad and it is something everyone has been thinking about."

The non-profit company said it helped to educate children on farming and used its animals for therapy purposes.

When speaking on BBC Radio Suffolk, Ms Smith said staff members realised the "very affectionate" animal was missing when they let the flock of sheep out.

"We have got to let these children know at some point that he is not here which is going to be hard," she said.

The farm shared the news of Teddy's disappearance on social media, which prompted people to donate £400 to go towards a reward for his safe return.

"It is heartbreaking and very scary as we obviously have got other animals," Ms Smith said.

The farm added anyone who had any information of Teddy's whereabouts to contact staff through its website.
