Driver dies in single-vehicle village crash

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in a Suffolk village.

The emergency services were just before 07:00 GMT to reports of a crash involving a Volkswagen Golf on Hollow Lane in Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds.

The driver of the Golf - a man in his 50s and the sole occupant of the car according to Suffolk Police - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road from the junction with Church Lane towards Tostock was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Suffolk Police said a file would be prepared for the coroner in due course.
