A major route through a city was closed by an overturned Co-op lorry.

The A140 Colman Road in Norwich was blocked in both directions between South Park Avenue and Unthank Road between about 06:50 and 14:00 GMT on Monday.

Norfolk Police said the lorry overturned after a collision with a car. A blue Co-op lorry and a grey Vauxhall car were recovered from the scene.

The East of England Ambulance Service said it sent two ambulances. Three people were treated at the scene. Two of them were taken to hospital.

Crews got the lorry back onto its wheels later in the morning.

Police investigators left the scene at about 11:00. No arrests were made.

A Co-op spokesperson said: "There was an incident involving a Co-op truck and a vehicle in the early hours of this morning in Norwich, which the emergency services have attended.

"Both drivers exited their vehicles and their wellbeing is a priority, as an investigation is undertaken into the incident."
