AI will be among the topics at the event aimed at helping small to medium-sized firms, organisers said

Using AI to help businesses and how to protect firms from cyber attacks will be among the key topics at a university event.

The West Midlands Business Festival will see academics and industry leaders from Birmingham City University, the University of Wolverhampton and Coventry University join forces.

Talks and panels are being aimed at helping small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and build on last year's collaboration, which focused on digital landscapes in business.

The panels are due to be held at the STEAMHouse on Belmont Row, Birmingham, on Thursday from 15:30 GMT.

A spokesperson for the University of Wolverhampton said: "The West Midlands is home to tens of thousands of SMEs that drive economic growth and innovation.

"By combining academic expertise with industry partnerships, this collaborative event aims to give businesses the confidence and practical tools to adopt emerging technologies, while developing the leadership capability needed to scale."
