Suspected stolen vehicles recovered in raid
BBCQuad bikes, motorcycles, a scooter and climbing equipment - all suspected to have been stolen - have been recovered by police during a raid on industrial units in Rotherham.
South Yorkshire Police said they received reports that stolen goods were being hoarded at the site in Greasbrough and the items, including vehicle parts, were discovered during the operation last week.
Two men, aged 30 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and theft of a motor vehicle and have been bailed while further enquiries are carried out.
Insp John Crapper said the force knew "the impact car theft can have on people" and the raid was part of efforts to "dismantle these illicit operations".
Officers said they also discovered specialist rock climbing kit at the units, thought to be worth more than £2,000.
Crapper said: "We have been unable to trace the owner of this climbing kit, but it is worth thousands, in good condition, and we know someone out there will be gutted to have had their collection stolen from them."
The kit included more than a dozen camming devices - protection tools used to create secure anchor points, a police spokesperson said, and the force asked anyone who believed the equipment may be theirs to get in touch.
