Leicester is set to welcome back thousands of runners as a popular 10km (6.2 mile) race returns to the city.

Organised by the not-for-profit organisation, Jane Tomlinson's Run for All, runners are encouraged to raise money for their own causes and official partners - which include The Zinthiya Trust and the Leicester Tigers Foundation.

The event will start from Victoria Park on 1 March 2026, passing many of the city's landmarks, including the University of Leicester and New Walk Museum, before heading back towards Leicester Cathedral for the finish.

The run was set up in memory of Jane Tomlinson, an English amateur athlete who, despite a terminal diagnosis of breast cancer, raised £1.85m for charity.

The organisers of the event aim to make it "as inclusive as possible"

Tristan Batley-Kyle, operations director at Run For All, said: "Leicester is a perfect city location to stage our first event of 2026.

"Whatever your reason for taking part, whether it's a personal challenge, fundraising for charity or just for fun, we welcome all participants to get involved."

Ms Tomlinson raised money for children's and cancer charities before she died at the age of 43.

She made headlines across the world by completing endurance challenges, including a 4,200 mile (6,760km) cycle across North America despite her terminal diagnosis.
