Breathtaking solar eclipse over glacier in Patagonia

See what is hidden in the shadows of this glacier in Patagonia, Chile. Photographer Liam Man travels across the world to capture the annual solar eclipse from a glacier that has seen dramatic recession. Equipped with a team of local ice climbers, a light drone, and his camera, he captures this breathtaking moment for the 2025 United Nations International Year of Glacier Preservation. With his drone, he lights up his subjects, which creates a stunning scene — a scene that cannot be recreated. When the next eclipse passes over, big parts of the ice will already be gone.
