Es Devlin's powerful art invites a closer look at strangers
Es Devlin is one of the world's most influential artists and stage designers. Transcending traditional boundaries, her work has transformed Olympic ceremonies, Louis Vuitton runways and Beyoncé's culture defining stadium tours.
In one of her more intimate works, she draws fifty strangers as they meet her gaze, to build a living portrait of London's shared humanity. In a church on the Strand, she creates a new 'congregation' of Londoners from many pasts. Their portraits challenge how we see home, belonging, and the boundaries between us.
