'We don't mess around when it comes to our hair for Carnival'

One of the best things about Notting Hill Carnival is the array of bold looks, colourful costumes and eye-catching hairstyles.

BBC London went to meet with those working behind the scenes to bring the iconic looks.

Aminata Kamara is a hairstylist working with Flagz Mas band and told us what it is like to create intricate hairstyles for Carnival.

She said: "I think for Carnival, it's all or nothing so we might throw it all in there.

"When it comes to hair and Carnival, especially black culture, it's a big part of the narrative - and we don't mess around when it comes to our hair."
