Mourner killed as man, 76, drives into social club
A mourner was fatally struck by a car as she left a funeral wake at a social club, police have said.
Lancashire Police have released footage from February 2024 of Brian Trevithick as the 76-year-old reversed his Vauxhall Crossland X into another vehicle in a car park.
The force said Trevithick then accelerated through the Greenhill Social and Bowling Club's entrance in Burnley. Lynne Harvey, 72, who was in a wheelchair, suffered "catastrophic injuries" while a woman in her 50s was badly hurt.
Police said Trevithick had not told the DVLA about medication he was taking which would have seen his driving licence revoked.
He admitted causing death by dangerous driving and was jailed for four years and eight months at Preston Crown Court.
