'Active lad' claims plyometric push-ups record
A personal trainer has broken a Guinness World Record after completing 19 plyometric push-ups in one minute.
Alex Goulding, 31, from Bedford, who is already a multiple fitness world record holder, achieved the milestone on 19 January, surpassing a record previously held in the United States since 2022.
The push-ups are an advanced form of explosive upper-body exercise, as seen in the video.
"Doing one of these is challenging... to be able to do multiple of them was obviously exhausting and takes a lot of practice," said Goulding.
He chose to attempt the record on "Blue Monday", using the event to raise money and awareness for mental health in his community.
He hoped the challenge would bring positivity to people and encourage conversations around wellbeing.
