Watch: The dog breed that stands out in Westminster's agility competition
Border collies have sprinted, swerved and soared past the competition since the Westminster Kennel Club introduced its Masters Agility Championship to its annual dog show in 2014.
The breed has captured nine of the first 12 titles, thanks to a blend of intelligence, athleticism and intense focus that seems tailor-made for the sport.
The 2025 champion, Emily Klarman, training her border collie Swish at UDog near Philadelphia, says the dogs' sharp minds and agile bodies give them an edge in the intricate obstacle courses.
New York City's Westminster Dog Show celebrates its 150th year of competition in early February.
