Watch: Runaway horses gallop through village streets

A herd of runaway horses were spotted galloping through the streets of a village in Nottinghamshire.

Police officers were called to Bateman Road, East Leake, on Sunday following reports of a herd of horses loose in the street.

Nottinghamshire Police said a number of vehicles were damaged after the animals escaped from a nearby stables at about 17:15 GMT.

Insp Tim Cuthbert, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said: "The incident was safely resolved a short time later after officers assisted the owner to round up the horses."
