A man has suffered a gunshot wound to his leg after shots were fired through the front door of a house in Dungiven, County Londonderry.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said it received a report that a number of shots had been fired in the Finvola Park area shortly before 21:00 GMT on Tuesday.

The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
