A man who was killed when a car crashed into a bus stop in Leeds has been named by police.

Terence Russell, 62, died when a black Mitsubishi Shogun being driven along Stanningley Road hit the shelter at about 15:15 GMT on Monday.

West Yorkshire Police said two other pedestrians suffered minor injuries.

A 57-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the crash had been released on bail, police said.

The man had been released without charge in connection to his arrest on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, officers confirmed.

In a tribute to Mr Russell, released via the police, a close friend, Joanne, said: "Goodnight and god bless. Rest in peace Tezza. You're loved very much".

The force appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
