Man seriously injured in Morley hit-and-run

A pedestrian has been seriously inured in a hit-and-run crash, West Yorkshire Police said.

The man was on Middleton Road, in Morley, at about 20:00 BST on Saturday when he was hit by a Range Rover Evoque travelling towards Fountain Street.

The driver failed to stop following the collision, police said.

A 30-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Officers have appealed for witness to come forward.

Former care home could raise £380,000 at auction

Knowle Manor is being sold to raise money after a council decision to close it in 2024.

Lee Mitchell created a factory to produce counterfeit £20 bank notes, with police finding £380,000.

The shopfronts have been restored to make them "more sympathetic" to Morley, the council says.

The bullets were stolen from a lorry in Sutton Coldfield before being moved to West Yorkshire.

Scarth Gardens is set to get new pavements, more plants and a sculpture trail, says the council.
