Dog dies in car crash on M27 near Southampton

A dog has died after a collision with a car on the motorway.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said they were called to the incident at 8:38 GMT on Sunday, on the M27 near Southampton.

The incident had blocked multiple lanes westbound near J9 which were all reopened later in the morning.

The force said that no other injuries had been reported and the pet's owners had been notified.
