West Midlands Police dogs need home after failing to make grade
West Midlands Police They are the West Midlands Police dogs who just missed out on a life of fighting crime.
But the force promises the two pups and one older dog are extremely loveable - they just need a good home.
Officers say Chloe, a 16-month-old German Shepherd and Ran, a nine-month-old Belgian Malinois, didn't quite meet the grade required to go on patrol.
It is hoped the canines can find a "forever home" by Christmas.
Chloe is said to love a game of tug before settling down for a cuddle, while Ran enjoys walks in the country and playing ball.
The "extremely loveable" duo are currently based at the West Midlands Police Dog Training Centre in Coventry.
'Well earned retirement'
The two youngsters are joined at the centre by nine-year-old English Springer Spaniel Sam, also hoping to find a home with a family.
Sam - a retired drugs, firearms and cash dog - recently hung up the police badge to enjoy what handlers call a "well-earned retirement".
The 26kg canine is described as a "very friendly and loveable old boy", but would prefer to be in a one pet household.
Anyone interested in giving the dogs a new home has been asked to email the force.
