Design choices for Sandwell's new youth buses unveiled

Design options for a new youth bus service have been unveiled.

Children in Sandwell are being encouraged to vote on one of two design concepts put forward by the borough council.

The one that wins will feature on the outside of the two double-decker buses.

The vehicles will serve as mobile youth facilities and feature mini recording studios, sensory areas, a virtual reality area, smart TVs and gaming consoles among other activities.

About £700,000 has been invested in the buses, with the service scheduled to start in the spring.

Councillor Simon Hackett, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for children, young people and education, described the designs as "eye-catching" and said the vehicles would offer a great service.

Children can vote on the designs on Sandwell Council's website until 6 December.
