An elderly man has died after a two-car crash in Worcestershire.

It happened at about 15:55 GMT on Saturday on the A44 in Wickhamford near to Longdon Hill and involved a beige Dacia Duster and a blue Toyota Yaris.

The driver of the Dacia Duster, a man in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene while an 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two other people were treated at the scene for injuries and were left in the care of the ambulance service.

The suspect has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

West Mercia Police encouraged anyone in the area at the time of the crash, or those with information, to contact the force.

Police also want to speak to the occupants of a white van who stopped at the scene to help, as they may have information that can help with inquiries.
