There was water on a pavement near Bilton Grange school in Dunchurch

People in part of Warwickshire were facing having no water supply or low pressure, after a burst in Dunchurch, Severn Trent Water has said.

A number of homes were affected and the company's teams have been making emergency repairs to a burst pipe on Rugby Road.

Severn Trent said it was sorry for any inconvenience caused and aware there was traffic disruption on Friday morning.

Homes largely had supplies at about 08:20 GMT, but the company said about a dozen customers "may be without water while repairs take place due to their location".

It was speaking directly with them and teams were working to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible, it said.

The closure was on the "A426/Rugby Road junctions".

A spokesperson said: "Majority of customers have water, and we will be continuing to use traffic management to fix the pipe as quickly and safely as possible.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their patience as we make these essential repairs."

Earlier, Severn Trent said customers may be experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water.

At about 06:30 GMT, there was a leak across a road and on to a pavement outside Bilton Grange school, while around the corner the Earle Gardens area was also flooded, BBC CWR reported.
