The knife surrender bins will be available across the week, Warwickshire Police said

Knife surrender bins will be available at police stations with front counters across Warwickshire this week as part of a national initiative.

Operation Sceptre aims to tackle knife crime through enforcement, prevention, education and community engagement.

Warwickshire Police said the bins would allow people to dispose of items safely and anonymously, with no questions asked and no personal details required.

The force said it was committed to reducing knife crime, and that removing potential weapons from the community made it safer for everyone.

Officers will also be supporting the Behind Every Blade campaign, designed in collaboration with local young people.

It highlights what could happen when someone carries a knife, aiming to make people think twice about it and report others.
