Police reunite with baby after saving his life
PAPolice officers were reunited with a two-day-old baby after they helped save his life.
Mahamad Hawsar's parents called 999 on 11 December after the baby stopped breathing while at home at Middlesbrough.
PC Tom Cannon and PC Dom Taylor arrived to find Mahamad apparently lifeless in his mother's arms, and PC Cannon performed CPR until the baby began to breathe again.
Parents Hawsar Hamad and Kale Hamakirm said they did not know how to thank the officers, and hoped one day their son might become a policeman.
PACleveland Police Chief Constable Mark Webster, who joined the officers at the reunion, said: "We get about a thousand calls a day and these officers never know what they're going to face.
"On this occasion they directly saved someone's life and I'm really proud of them.
"They demonstrated the finest values of British policing and I wanted to say thank you straight away."
