Work continues to identify skeleton found in tent

The skeletal remains were discovered near Melwood Grove in Hull

Work is continuing to identify the skeletal remains found in a tent in Hull, Humberside Police has said.

The body was discovered by a member of the public in an alleyway close to Melwood Grove on 11 December.

Det Ch Insp Ben Robinson said that specialist teams had been carrying out extensive work and "this will continue across the coming weeks".

He added: "We currently believe the remains relate to one individual, however enquiries remain ongoing to establish the identification and full circumstances of this discovery."

The force has renewed an appeal for any information that could help the investigation.
