Appeal after man dies in crash on industrial estate

A man has died after the car he was driving hit a vehicle rental unit near Pocklington, causing a fire.

Officers were called to the scene at the Enterprise outlet on the Broadhelm Business Park, near to the Shell service station, in the early hours of Monday.

The 47-year-old driver of the white Ford Mondeo died at the scene, Humberside Police said.

Hodsow Lane was closed for several hours but has since reopened. Police said the man's family had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash, or who has dashcam footage related to the incident, is asked to contact Humberside Police.

Humberside Fire & Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
