Love Island star Tyrique Hyde has been banned from driving after using a car without insurance, court documents show.

The 26-year-old, who appeared on the reality show in 2023, was caught behind the wheel of a Mercedes in Grays, Essex, in November 2024.

Hyde, from nearby Chafford Hundred, was described as a "repeat offender" in the documents seen by the BBC.

He admitted the offence and was fined £553 at Southend Magistrates' Court in November 2025, as well as being disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months.

Hyde came third alongside Ella Thomas in the 10th series of the ITV reality show.

He is a semi-professional footballer who was once on the books at Colchester United, but more recently played for Maldon and Tiptree FC.

The TV personality was driving on West Thurrock Way, near Lakeside shopping centre, on 18 November 2024, when he was found to have been driving uninsured.

It is illegal to drive a vehicle on a road or in a public place without at least third-party insurance, which covers damage or injury caused to other people or their property.

Hyde was approached for comment.
