Love Island host Maya Jama and Manchester City player Ruben Dias have had their Cheshire home burgled.

The break-in happened on Wednesday, while Jama, 31, was filming Love Island in South Africa and Dias, 28, was at City's Champions League game against Galatasaray.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police told the BBC: "Shortly after 11.10pm on Wednesday 28 January, police received reports of a burglary at an address in Alderley Edge.

"Officers attended and found entry had been made to the property and a number of items had been stolen. Enquiries are currently ongoing."

The Sun quoted a source close to the couple who said they had been left devastated by the burglary.

The couple, who moved into their home together late last year, had previously been living in separate cities, with Dias in Manchester City Centre and Jama in London.

They are said to have met in Manchester in November 2024 at the MTV European Music Awards and confirmed their relationship in April 2025.

Dias, who has played as a defender for Manchester City since joining Pep Guardiola's team in 2020, recently signed a two-year contract extension in August 2025.

Jama, who has been hosting Love Island since 2023, shared pictures of her new home with Dias at Christmas and last week told her Instagram followers that she had homes in London, the Cotswolds and Cheshire.

Their Cheshire home is said to be in an area popular with other current and former Premier League footballers.

Dias and Jama are not the first victims of burglars who have taken advantage of knowing when footballers are away.

Previous victims in the same area include Dias' current teammate Jack Grealish, who is currently on loan at Everton and former Manchester City players Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

It is not known whether all burglaries were committed by the same group, but all were targeted in similar circumstances.
