Motorists are being warned of disruption ahead of planned traffic light upgrades on a busy dual carriageway near a shopping park.

Expected to last two-and-a-half weeks, work to replace the outdated traffic lights at the Orbital Shopping Park junction on Thamesdown Drive with new energy-efficient LED lights, is set to begin on Monday.

Swindon Borough Council said temporary traffic lights will be in place throughout, with a lane closure also in force between 10:00 GMT and 15:00 on weekdays.

Funded through the Department for Transport's Signal Upgrade Fund, the upgrades are expected to save the council £5,000 a year in maintenance and energy costs.
