Two more people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man who was discovered unconscious in his flat earlier this year.

Hamid Tawaab, 59, was found in Fern Court, Huntingdon, on 20 January and was pronounced dead shortly after.

The force said a 43-year-old man and 28-year-old woman, both from Huntingdon, were arrested and have been released on bail.

It brings the total number of people arrested to four, after a 35-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were also held on suspicion of murder and bailed.

In early October, Cambridgeshire Police began treating Mr Tawaab's death as suspicious, following the results of a post mortem examination.

Det Insp Verity McCann, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit, previously said: "I understand this is likely to be concerning for the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident and are working tirelessly to find out what happened."

The family of Mr Tawaab said he would be greatly missed, and that they hoped he was at peace.

"He was an incredibly intelligent and likeable person with a cheeky smile, an infectious laugh, and a passion for cricket," a tribute issued via police said.

"He was a father, grandfather, brother and uncle and we are deeply shocked and saddened by his loss and the horrific circumstances around his death."
