Tyres and a fence among six tonnes of A12 rubbish
Chelmsford City CouncilTyres, rubbish and even a fence were among six tonnes of rubbish collected on the side of the A12 in Essex.
Chelmsford City Council said the waste had been dumped next to the busy road and also contained wood and metal.
"We aren't asking for a pat on the back, but we thought we'd share a tiny fraction of the work our teams do," the authority wrote on Facebook.
Drivers were asked to take their rubbish home instead of "hoying it out of the window" during their journeys.
